🔒 Short version: ScoreSaver stores everything on your device. We collect no personal information, operate no servers, and require no account. The only time any data leaves your device is if you choose to use the optional AI Coaching feature — and only after you give explicit consent. No name, login, contact details, or photos are ever sent.
Information We Collect
ScoreSaver does not collect any personal information. The app operates entirely offline and stores all data locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework.
The data you enter — match records, scores, dates, locations, and grade information — never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it.
Data We Store On Your Device
- Match records you enter (date, match type, location, score, computed grade)
- App settings such as your default location or preferred match type
- A username and hashed password stored in the iOS Keychain (if you enable app lock)
All of the above is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData and iOS Keychain — both protected by iOS's sandboxing and device encryption.
Third-Party Services
ScoreSaver uses no third-party analytics, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or tracking frameworks. There are no SDKs from Facebook, Google, or any other third party embedded in the app.
The only third-party data sharing is the optional AI Coaching feature described below, which you must explicitly enable and consent to.
AI Coaching (Optional)
ScoreSaver includes an optional AI Coaching feature in the Coach tab. It is off by default. You can also choose Apple Intelligence, which runs entirely on your device and sends nothing to anyone.
If — and only if — you choose a cloud AI provider, supply your own API key, and tap to generate coaching, the app shows a consent screen and, after you agree, sends a small set of shooting statistics to that provider to generate feedback:
- Match type and category
- Number of sessions recorded
- Current grade
- Personal best score
- Overall and recent average scores
- Score consistency (standard deviation)
- Performance trend
- Points to the next grade
No name, login, account, contact details, photos, or location are ever sent. Only the statistics listed above are transmitted.
Who the data is sent to depends on the provider you select:
- Claude — sent to Anthropic, PBC under its privacy policy.
- Gemini — sent to Google LLC under its privacy policy.
The request is sent directly from your device to the provider using the API key you supplied; ScoreSaver operates no servers of its own and does not store or relay this data. You must give explicit consent before any data is sent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time in Settings → Data Sharing & Privacy. Withdrawing consent stops all further sharing.
Face ID / Passcode
If you enable Face ID or Passcode unlock, ScoreSaver uses the iOS Local Authentication framework to verify your identity on-device. Biometric data never leaves your device and is not accessible to ScoreSaver — only the pass/fail result is returned by iOS.
iCloud Backups
If you enable iCloud backup on your device, your app data may be included in those backups as part of standard iOS behaviour. This is controlled entirely by your iCloud settings, not by ScoreSaver. SwiftData stores (used by ScoreSaver) are included in device backups by default.
Data Deletion
You can delete individual match records from within the app at any time. Deleting the app from your device will permanently remove all stored data.
Children's Privacy
ScoreSaver is intended for users aged 4 and older (Sports category). We do not knowingly collect data from children, as the app stores no data externally.

Changes to This Policy
If we change this privacy policy in a material way, we will update the "Last updated" date above and note changes in the App Store release notes.
